Why use this extension as opposed to Google News?
- To protect your privacy : Meta-Press.es does not monitor your usage (your requests don't reach our servers, we don't need servers at all), and protects you against ads and newspapers trackers
- To get back the control : Meta-Press.es lets you know exactly in which source (newspaper, scientific press, agendas, social networks…) your search is performed and it even lets you to chose them
- To make your press-review : exporting in RSS (JSON or CSV) format the results you want
- To avoid ads using a honest trust-worthy libre-software service

What do we collect?
Nothing. With Meta-Press.es your computer directly connects to your selected newspapers.
But you can willingly send us feedback about the sources.

What do I do if I have trouble?

Permissions :
- if you are using the private browsing mode, beware not to miss the installation time authorization popup to allow Meta-Press.es to run in private mode (or you won't see the Meta-Press.es icon)
- the host permission is needed to read results from the queried source, only those sources are targeted, and permissions can be dropped between searches
- the notification permission is only used to signal the end of a long search or new results in a scheduled search
- the alarm permission is used to schedule searches
- the storage permission is used to remember settings and custom sources

Also, this addon periodically (usually once a year) opens the "journal" page of the Meta-Press.es project website to present new features.
