Image Control

Simple addon, to prevents the loading of images either via a black or whitelist based on domain (aka. origins ) It can help to safe traffic on mobile connections and might even make some sites more readable.

Inspired by "Image Block". But since it did not have a black or whitelist feature or a domain based filter, this addon has been created as an alternative.

Usage:


  1. Open the addon preferences to switch between black or whitelist mode
  2. Visit a website which contains images
  3. Click the toolbar button to add/remove the site origin to/from the active list.
  4. To make bulk changes use the Export & import buttons on the preferences page

Notes:
  1. Permissions:
    1. "Access browser tabs", required to access / query tab urls tabs and connecting the tab navigation events with the image block rules
    2. "Access your data for all websites", required to allow blocking of image request for defined origins/urls
    This add-on tries to use the minimal number of required permissions to successfully fullfill its intended purpose.
